In this painting I ideas from the landscape painting and the disney painting to make a painting that has a lot of color, depth and contrast. I had to make the objects in the foreground darker and more detailed to they look closer, and I make the objects in the background lighter and less detailed. This painting uses the art elements color, line, and contrast. Towards the bottom and up the middle of the painting, objects are darker to appear closer and on the top, they appear lighter so they look like they are off in the distance. These art elements are important because they make the painting have much more color, contrast and depth.
In this painting I used darker colors in the foreground and lighter colors in the background to make a painting with a lot of depth. I had to learn how to darken and light objects to make them appear closer or farther away and I also have to learn how to make details with different dots and colors . This painting uses the art elements line form, shape, and contrast. Towards the bottom of the painting, objects are darker to appear closer and on the top and middle they appear lighter as they are farther away. Overall, these art elements are important because they make the painting appear to have a lot of detail and depth.
In this painting I mixed colors the as blue and green with complementary colors like red yellow and orange to make a colorful painting. I had to apply skills I had previously learned such as darkening the foreground and lighting the background, and adding complementary colors to make the painting brighter . This painting uses the art elements form, color and shape. Towards the right of the painting, objects are darker to appear closer and on the right they appear lighter as they are farther away, and the trees are shaded on the left side and highlighted on the right, showing the sun is on the right side. Overall, these art elements are important because they make the painting appear to be brighter and have more color.
In this paint I mixed colors such as blue and green with white and black to create a rather dull and colorless painting. I had to learn how to darken and light objects to make them appear closer or farther away and I also have to . This painting uses the art elements line form and shape. Towards the right of the painting, objects are darker to appear closer and on the right they appear lighter as they are farther away. Overall, these art elements are important because they make the painting appear to have less color and more depth.
In this painting I used complementary colors and shading to make a macro painting of a flower. I had to learn how to paint with water colors and mix complementary colors in order to give the painting more color and make it pop. This painting uses the art elements color, form, and depth. On the right side of each flower, it is significantly lighter, as the light source is coming from the left and the light on the left half of the flower is being blocked. Overall, these art elements are important because they give it depth and makes the painting more colorful.
In this painting I outlined my face, and drew and painted it in order to make a self portrait. I had to learn how to do proper proportions and shade specific parts of the face in order to make it look realistic. This painting uses the art elements line form, line and value. In the middle of the face, it is shaded under the nose and also shaded on the left side of the face, assuming the light source is on the right. Also the left side of the chin is shaded. Overall, this was probably the most difficult assignment in the class, because it applied most of the art and design elements, which all contributed to making a very realistic looking face.
In this sketch I used parallel lines and vanishing points to make a hallway. I had to learn how to draw with vanishing points and make objects smaller in order for them to appear farther away. This sketch uses the art elements line form and shape. Towards the middle of the pages, lines get lighter and objects appear to be smaller as they vanish from the page, more towards the outside, objects get darker and larger as they appear to be closer. Overall, these art elements are important because they give it depth and make things look closer or farther away.
In this painting I started with lighter colors, and put darker colors over them, to give the subject more texture and color. This painting uses the art elements color, texture, and value. On the top side of the subjects, there are reflections, which were made by leaving that part of the paper white. On the bottom side of the apples, there is a shadow, which was made by mixing blue and brown to make a dark color. The art elements used in this painting are important because they help make the apples more three dimensional and give it move color too.
In this sketch I used parallel lines and vanishing points to make different boxes in space. I had to learn how to draw with vanishing points and makes lines darker and lighter to show depth.
